Housed in a former coach shed in the Baltic Triangle is one of Liverpool's hippest venues. Opened in early 2012 by trio Miles Falkingham, Ian Richards and renowned Liverpool chef Steven Burgess, Camp and Furnace has turned heads for all the right reasons. A hit with Liverpool's bright young things, the spot quickly became the go-to place for the cool crowd and with a vibrant rota of weekly events, the place is showing no signs of slowing down. Formerly home to art gallery the A Foundation, the building sat alone in a sea of empty warehouses; however the arrival of Camp and Furnace triggered a renewed interest in the district now known as the Baltic Triangle. Fast-forward two years and the once derelict area has been given a new lease of life and is now firmly on Liverpool's cultural radar.

Camp and Furnace hosts an energetic programme of events housed under one roof including evening suppers, art fairs, balls, band nights, comedy events and Scandinavian picnics, not to mention one of the heartiest Sunday roasts in the North West (pictured). Ideal for a post-work catch up with friends, the intimate bar serves up pints of the home micro-brewed Brown Bear beer as well as a wide selection of European beers. The crackling Furnace fire is popular in winter months and the brightly lit bar is populated all year round with students, office workers winding down and creatives typing away. A clipboard of American-inspired food includes dirty burgers and honey and ale-cured ham hock as well as a list of daily specials created by co-founder Steven Burgess.

On either side of the main bar are two vast spaces that play host to the varied programme of events throughout the year. Check the Camp and Furnace website for listings and you may find yourself tapping away to the sounds of hot new acts or sampling finger-licking cuisine at Saturday's weekly Meat Market. Friday night’s wildly popular Food Slam is not to be missed.
