Following the success of their inaugural store in Stockholm’s Södermalm district, Swedish menswear store Haberdash found themselves expanding north and opening their second store on Upplandsgatan (Vasastan) in March 2012. Co-founded by Mats Sjöqvist and brothers Mårten and Olle Eriksson-Mårtens in 2008, the trio present international brands with reputations for timelessness and quality.
With a strong collection of heritage and contemporary labels, Haberdash pays homage to clothing rooted in craftsmanship. The selections in-store consist of functional clothing that’s made for purpose and Haberdash stocks labels such as Baracuta, Levi’s XX, S.N.S Herring and Patagonia alongside contemporary brands including Our Legacy, Stutterheim and Stone Island. In addition, an impressive collection of footwear from Common Projects, Redwing Shoes, Trickers and Wolverine 1000-mile grace the wooden shelving prominently positioned by the store’s entrance.
Stockholm-based industrial design studio Form Us With Love (FUWL) designed the interior and the space has been used wisely, with items displayed on magnified pegboards, simple workbench-like counters and cube shelving. All the materials have been carefully selected; the displays and counters are made from slabs of Silestone quartz and the leather seating is from Swedish tanney Tärnsjö Garveri. ‘Bare-bulb’ Form pendant lighting designed by FUWL for Design House Stockholm hangs around the store, illuminating the folded clothes sat below. Stylish and with an impressive brand collection, Haberdash is popular with well-dressed locals.
