Homegrown in Stockholm's Hornstull neighbourhood is Landet Järna, a specialist flower shop with a focus on wild flowers and plants found in the city's surrounding forests. Founded by Elsa Uggla with siblings Johanna and Maria Horn, Landet Järna was born when the trio began to explore the Järna area in the south of Stockholm where they found their only supplier who have been following Rudolf Steiner’s biodynamic methods since the 1960s.

After thorough research into how long wild plants last after being cut, the trio opened the unique flower shop in September 2013, now home to an unruly botanical collection of wildlife. Formerly located in the Linje Tio restaurant on Hornsbruksgatan, Landet Järna expanded their standalone premises on Katarina Bangata (Södermalm) in May 2014 and sell a seasonal selection of locally sourced, pesticide free and fair trade plant life.

Inside, the white space is decorated with wooden tables, shelving and vintage furnishings sourced by former schoolteacher Johanna. The botanical collection is housed in laboratory glassware (selected by landscape architect Maria following her obsession with US sitcom Breaking Bad) and as well as science lab apparatus, Kristallkulan glass vases designed by Arne Klingborg and The Plant magazine are also available for purchase. At the rear of the store, a small room contains an assortment of vintage and Swedish-designed furniture and further back is a compact garden where Landet Järna grow an assortment of wild plants with the help of their neighbours who live in the above apartments.

Landet Järna also create wild arrangements for nearby shops and restaurants in order to restore a bit of wildlife into the otherwise inanimate urban environment.
