Situated on the north coast of Ireland, Lost & Found is a independent cafe and brew bar that pays homage to the simple pleasures coffee brings to the table. A vanguard in Londonderry's Coleraine, Lost & Found on Queen Street occupies a former greengrocers having opened in January 2014.
Founded by two couples whose passion for good coffee resulted in a burgeoning friendship and a united vision to create Lost & Found. Owners David and Emily Lynas, Daniel and Kathleen Henderson wanted their collaborative affair to encompass good design, delicious food and great coffee so they could offer their customers a memorable experience.
Inside, the characterful space was designed by the Lost & Found alongside Orla Maguire and Martin Barrett's Oscar & Oscar, a Belfast-based reclamation and design company. The minimalist decor features whitewashed brick, exposed brick, simple bulb lighting and reclaimed wooden furniture, source from outdated lecture halls at University College Dublin. Staff uniform was a collaboration with Enrich & Endure, Brother and sister duo Lorcan and Sarah Quinn created customised Irish Linen aprons for Lost & Found.
Lost & Found's relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere is the ideal setting for their menu; seasonal and locally sourced ingredients appear regularlywhilst the coffee is roasted in Sweden by Anne Lunell and Charles Nystrand's Koppi Roasters. Freshly baked artisan bread comes compliments of Ballycastle-based Ursa Minor bakehouse. Lost & Found's extensive coffee selection is sourced from Guatemala, Costa Rica and Ethopia, alongside specialised brewing techniques such as Japanese iced coffee.
Be sure to check out By the Sea, recommended to us by David it's a concept store nearby Lost & Found that presents beautiful Scandinavian curios and furniture.
