First opened just off bohemian Bold Street in September 1999 before moving to larger premises in 2011, Lost Art boasts a loyal fan base of skating fanatics across Liverpool. Owner David Mackey decided to open the store after becoming dissatisfied with the lack of retail outlets catering to the city's growing skate scene in the late 90s. After securing funding from the Prince’s Trust, David set up his store stocking skating merchandise, apparel and footwear.
For an assortment of boards, trucks, wheels, bearings and anything else skating-related look no further than Lost Art. Whether your board needs a bit of creative personalisation or a full careful attention, the knowledgeable and attentive team are on-hand to advise. Also stocking a neat edit of skate brands including Nike SB, Palace, Diamond Supply Co. and Lakai, check out Lost Art’s in-house eponymous clothing label worn by skaters across the city. The own-brand label keeps things local and regularly invites regional designers and artists to create unique prints to appear on their unique tees, jerseys and boards.
Although the last decade has involved a lot of hard graft, dedication and the odd skating injury, Lost Art is now a Liverpool institute firmly on the radar of any discerning skater. The store has played an important part in keeping Liverpool's skate scene alive despite the lack of facilities in the city by regularly hosting in-store events.
Recent collaborations have featured brands such as Nike SB and Vans and in 2012, Lost Art hosted the launch of Chewy Cannon’s limited edition Adidas Skateboarding shoe. During the event Chewy rounded up his Palace team and enjoyed a skate jam followed by a film premiere hosted by Adidas at Camp and Furnace. Watch out for upcoming events, regularly posted on Lost Art's Facebook page.
