Located in New York's DUMBO neighbourhood, Modern Anthology is a retail store crammed with a unique selection of modern and vintage furniture, homeware, accessories and well-crafted clothing. Founded by Becka Citron and John Marsala, Modern Anthology began with a view to procure one of a kind functional goods for men. The store is partly a retail experiment in progress and features a continually rotating selection of pieces and brands offering well considered design-led products.

The rustic store features original wooden floorboard and is filled with vintage, rugged furniture and unique homeware; on our visit we spotted an early-20th-century carpenters bench repurposed as a table and a rugged yet handsome brown leather Chesterfield. With brands such as Aesop, Kaweco, Oat Street Bootmakers, Porter Bags, The Garbstore and Universal Works, the selection marries old and new and if you've got money to spend make sure you check out the glassware, reclaimed wood mirrors and vintage army blankets.

Modern Anthology isn't just as retail unit and also offers a full interior design service for private residences and commercial spaces as well as including furniture presentations, interior specifications and custom furniture design. Their creative studio is home to architects, filmmakers, interior designers, graphic and product designers with a like-minded passion for story-telling through experiential design.

The store and studio blend is ideal for designers Becka and John, who hope to use their retail space as a testing ground for their design ideas and concepts.
