A British institution, Sunspel was founded in 1860 by Thomas A Hill who wished to make everyday clothing from beautiful fabrics. Internationally acclaimed for their use of lightweight, Egyptian cotton, Sunspel have continued to build a core collection of everyday essentials that includes T-shirts, jersey, chinos and tailored outerwear alongside their iconic undergarments. Sunspel achieved international recognition when Daniel Craig donned their Rivera Polo in Casino Royale.

In 2005, Sunspel was taken over by Nicolas Brooke and Daniel Hazlehurst who have continued to present luxurious and modern everyday classics using traditional techniques. All garments are manufactured in their Nottingham-based factory and Sunspel use fabrics invented by the company many years ago as well as innovative new materials, all the while staying loyal to their promise to never compromise on quality.

Inside their Shoreditch store, which sits on the corner of Redchurch and Boundary Street, you'll find a space that has been created specifically to showcase Sunspel's luxurious staples. As well as Sunspel clothing, the collection is complemented by other iconic labels including denim by Levi's, shoes by Joseph Cheaney footwear, Uniform Wares watches, D R Harris apothecary and Postalco accessories.

The first Sunspel store in London is set over two levels with a dedicated basement level changing room. The store's interior features a sturdy counter decorated with Sunspel memorabilia and fresh flowers as well as dark wooden cabinets holding perfectly folded Sunspel jerseys. The walls feature Vintage Sunspel posters and are made from reclaimed wooden panelling, which in a previous life had been fixed to garage doors in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Don't miss the striking green enamel chandelier hanging from the ceiling; the design for this was inspired by the lights in Sunspel's Long Eaton factory.
