After working in the coffee industry in New Zealand for four years, Jonathan Perry opened Tamper Coffee in 2011. With a knowledgeable team of baristas lead by master barista Merrell, the venue has quickly become Sheffield's go-to venue. The welcoming yet stylish interior features unusual and naturally inspired furnishings such as sandbags on stools, school-style chairs, wooden tables and a dark wooden bar.
London-based roasters Ozone supply Tamper’s coffee and the team create their own different coffee blends on a weekly basis by freshly roasting a clean mix of beans. There is certainly a scientific and experimental element to their coffee making and this is mirrored by their lab-like wooden stools, long wooden tabletops and Pyrex measuring beakers.
The food menu, served up on wooden slabs, includes pies, pastas, toasted sandwiches, lighter salads and snacks for lunch as well as homemade pastries for an early morning start.
