Located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, the Wythe Hotel occupies a former cooperage factory having converted the 43,000 sq ft industrial site into a destination hotel on the waterfront. Launched in May 2012, The Wythe Hotel contains 72-rooms, a 60-seat restaurant, a 3,000 sq ft event space with outdoor garden, a rooftop bar, a 40-seat screening room, and a brick-arched private banquet room.

The Wythe Hotel was created by a team including Australian hotelier Peter Lawrence, Local restaurateur Andrew Tarlow, and property developer Jed Walentas, whose father’s firm Two Trees Management transformed Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighbourhood.

Hewlett-born Tarlow's inspiration to redefine the once-des-olate streets of Williamsburg into a faithful neighbourhood is at the forefront of Tarlow's previous ventures Marlow & Sons, Diner and Marlow & Daughters. This sense of community spirit runs throughout the hotel; sourcing artisanal, ethically sourced food and products from the likes of Common Goods, Brooklyn Brewery and Mast Brothers Chocolate.

The transformation of the 8-story warehouse, built in 1901 was completed by New York-based Morris Adjmi Architects and interiors by design firm Workstead. Meticulously converted to maintain the building’s industrial character; pine beams, masonry, arched windows and cast-iron columns all beautifully preserved. Key features in bespoke wall coverings by Dan Funderburgh, custom made beds from reclaimed ceiling timbers by Dave Hollier and lighting by SAW Furniture. In addition to the original building sees a three-story glass “Tetris block” with wrap-around views.

The hotel's ground restaurant, Reynard includes a wood-fired oven and grill, courtyard seating, a farm-to-table daily menu and seasonal cocktails. Its upstairs bar, Ides was named after Tarlow's daughter.
