The Hudson River Project
The Hudson River Project is a feature length documentary by James Bowthorpe and Antony Crook. Uncomplicated in its conception, The Hudson River Project was created from a simple notion; ‘Build a boat out of Manhattan’s waste, take it to the source of the Hudson River, Lake Tear of the Clouds, high in the Adirondack Mountains and row the boat back to Manhattan.
With a simple notion comes powerful meaning, both James and Anthony wish to make a connection between the modern mega-city that is New York and the wilderness, balancing man-made with nature, streetlights and moon light, the Hudson River acts as the connecting rod between these two separate lands. The environmental and social allegory, led by James who will be making the journey along the Hudson River is sure to not simply catch eyes but to hopefully inspire, making people look at the world around them with fresh eyes and an open mindset.
With an original soundtrack curated by Mogwai those recent workings include soundtracks for Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait and The Returned, currently showing on Channel Four, this beautiful film is an adventure story to be shared.
