Gregor Knitted Calendar by Patrick Grey | Hanover (GER)

The Gregor knitted calendar is a clever timekeeper by Hanover based designer Patrick Grey. The annual calendar is in fact an oblong scarf crafted from ash grey cotton knit and enables the wearer to cross out the past by simply pulling on the loose thread at the bottom. As the days go by, the scarf will slowly unravel into a heap of soft yarn leaving no trace of the days previous.

The Smallest Print Company by The Letterproeftuin | Rotterham (NDL)

The Smallest Print Company is the latest project from traveling design studio The Letterproeftuin. Featured as part of the International Poster & Graphic Design Festival Chaumont 2013, The Letterproeftuin created this mobile printing installation with the help and expertise of Lara De Greef, Druma, Roco-Ets, Wessel van Offeren, Fieke van Berkom, LATU Werkhanden and Van Son Ink.

The Smallest Print Company is a compact and novel take on printing by the Dutch design studio who, during the festival, aimed to print the smallest posters at the fair with their mobile installation, comprised of a Viprotech silk screen table and scale model Roco-Ets V50.

This project sits alongside many others in The Letterproeftuin’s impressive portfolio. Founded by Yorit Kluitman, Timon Van De Hilden and Jaron Korvinus, the design trio continue to fight fast design tools and instead prefer to invest time in their thoughtful creations.

The Brücke 49 Hotel | Vals (CH)

In January we look to the New Year through a rejuvenated lens following a period of rest and self-reflection. Finding somewhere to truly relax over the holidays can be difficult but tucked away in Vals is Brücke 49, a secluded escape set in a breathtaking Swiss valley.

Subtitled as a bed and breakfast, Brücke 49 is a lifelong dream brought to life by husband-and-wife duo Thomas and Ruth Schacht who set out to re-invent the original, hearty B&B concept. From the beginning the Schacts wanted to create a home away from home, offering a personal retreat that’s far from ordinary. Opt for a short stay or a longer retreat and make use of Brücke 49's small reading room, curl up by the fireplace or explore the beautiful mountains surrounding Vals.
